In our opinion, most reviewers recommend the most popular websites rather than the ones that deliver the best results. This is definitely the case when it comes to reverse phone lookup sites. So, if you're expecting us to give our number one rating to ReversePhoneDetective.com (and we do like it - you can view our rating on this site), think again. Simply put, we like this one best. We love their easy-to-view graphics (e.g. map of the US) - they allow for quicker, more intuitive, and simpler searches. And since their databases are nearly identical, there's no reason not to try this site. And, contrary to their name they do allow for reverse searches on landline phones - not just cell phones.
Databases, Tools, and Extras
In addition to finding the owners of landline or cell (mobile) numbers, you can also get the following.
- Their Address History
- Background Report
- Wireless Carrier
- Location Map
Membership Options and Fees
(All are one-time billing)
- One-Time Full Report for One Number: $14.95
- One-Year Unlimited Reverse Phone Lookups: $39.95
- One-Year Unlimited Access to Reverse Phone and Criminal Records Searches: $44.90 - It definitely pays to go with the one-year unlimited in our opinion. You'll break even after your second search.
1. Like most, their prices are reasonable but as we said above, it's better to go with the one-year membership plan than the one-time full report option, if you can afford it. Also, be aware that the $39.95 option is for reverse phone search only. If you want to conduct criminal records searches you'll have to pay the $44.90.
2. Their user interface is great and the site's navigability even better. We also like that they have an area code lookup reference page - and you don't have to be a member to use it.
3. Like the others, it is a great resource for conducting background checks (e.g. babysitters, employees, neighbors, etc); finding sex offenders; checking criminal and civil court records; obtaining prison records (including incarcerations, sentencing files, mugshots, and prisoner lists); bankrupty records; business and corporate filings, and more. But remember, you can only do this with the one-time option or $44.90 option.
4. Their vital records databases - e.g. birth, death, marriage, divorce certificates and decrees - both current and historical - are good.
Limitations
1. US based searches only - This site should not be used to replace a full-blown genealogy/ancestry search site.
2. They also don't have the breath of vital records data that the people find sites have... remember, their forte is reverse number searches!
